Heat Pumps in Chelsea, MA With Rebates and 0% Financing

Installation, Mass Save rebate filing and HEAT Loan setup, with your price, rebate estimate and financed amount written down before any work begins. Serving Chelsea, Everett, Revere and East Boston.

Before you agree to anything, you get

  • A price in writing

Equipment, labor and layout totaled on paper, so nothing changes once the crew shows up.

  • A rebate estimate

What Mass Save is likely to pay back, with the conditions that come attached.

  • Your financed amount

How much could go on a 0% HEAT Loan, and what is left for you to cover.

  • Program steps mapped

Which forms, visits and sign-offs come first, second and last.

  • A plan for the old heat

Whether the boiler or furnace leaves or stays as a backup, decided up front.

What Can We Help You Pay For, and Install?

Maybe the whole triple-decker needs new heat. Maybe it is one top-floor unit that roasts every summer. Either way, these five services fit together, and the money side gets explained as carefully as the equipment.

How Does a Project Go, Start to Finish?

  1. A phone conversation

What heats the place now? How many units? Who owns it, and who lives there? We use your answers to see which rebates and whether the HEAT Loan could apply.

  2. Eligibility sorted

Program requirements get compared with your building. Should a Home Energy Assessment be needed first, we help get the no-cost visit on the calendar and explain what it may recommend.

  3. Measuring the home

A visit to size the system properly: rooms, windows, insulation and the equipment in the basement. Older city homes lose heat in particular ways, and the design has to account for that.

  4. Numbers on paper

A single document lists equipment, installed price, projected rebate and financed amount next to each other. If the HEAT Loan fits, the lender application starts here.

  5. Install, test, file

Units go in, every zone is tested, controls are explained and the rebate and loan paperwork is finished, including the inspection the loan program requires.

What Makes Our Projects Easier to Say Yes To?

Most people do not hesitate over the heat pump itself. They hesitate over the money and the mess. Here is how we take care of both.

  • Equipment rated for real cold

We install cold-climate heat pumps designed to keep heating on the bitter nights that blow in off the harbor, so the backup does not have to carry the season.

  • Every number shown before work starts

Price, rebate estimate, loan amount and what you pay out of pocket, laid out on one page. You can check our math and ask about any line.

  • Careful, clean installation

Line sets routed neatly, floors and hallways covered, holes sealed, and a walkthrough at the end so you know how everything works.

Where Do We Install Around Chelsea?

Chelsea packs a lot of housing in between the Mystic River and Chelsea Creek. Triple-deckers, two-families and older single homes, many on aging gas boilers, some still on oil. Neighboring cities share that same mix, so the approach travels well.

Triple-deckers and two-families

Every apartment gets a separate plan, separate heads or air handler and a separate thermostat, letting each household run its floor its own way.

Tight lots, close neighbors

Outdoor units placed thoughtfully on narrow side yards, porches and flat roofs, with attention to noise and access.

Radiators and no ducts

Most older homes here were built for steam or hot water. Ductless heads add heating and cooling without opening walls.

What Would a Heat Pump Actually Cost You?

Not the sticker price. The real number after rebates, and whether 0% financing could cover the rest. One conversation gets you a clear starting estimate.

Which Questions Come Up on Nearly Every Call?

Short answers up front, details after. If your situation is different, ask us directly.

Can a triple-decker or two-family get heat pumps?

Yes, and they are strong candidates. Each unit typically gets its own system or set of heads with separate controls, so every household runs its own heat and cooling. We plan the outdoor units and line routes for the whole building at once, which keeps the exterior tidy.

Is it possible to finance insulation and the heat pump in one loan?

Often, yes. The Mass Save HEAT Loan covers both heat pumps and weatherization such as insulation and air sealing, at 0% interest up to $25,000 through participating banks and credit unions. Lender approval and the program steps still apply, and we help keep both parts of the project in one proposal.

I rent out units. Can landlords use these programs?

Owners of two- to four-unit buildings frequently qualify to put Mass Save rebates and HEAT Loan money toward the apartments they own. Eligibility depends on the utility accounts involved, occupancy and the program rules in effect, so we check your building specifically. It is one of the first things we sort out on the call.

What does the install schedule look like?

That varies with scope: a single ductless head is a short visit, while converting an entire triple-decker takes considerably longer. The written proposal carries a schedule for your building, so the timeline is known before you sign anything.

Does the apartment get air conditioning out of this as well?

It does. Come July the heat pump flips direction, pulling heat and humidity out of the rooms through the very heads that warm them in winter. Plenty of owners and tenants haul their window units to the curb afterward.

What's the right size heat pump for an old house?

Whatever the house actually loses on a frigid night, worked out room by room. Glass area, insulation, ceiling height and wind exposure all feed that figure, and capacity follows it. Matching the old boiler instead is a classic error, because so many were far too big to begin with.

In 2026, how much can Mass Save put toward a heat pump?

Up to $8,500 in 2026 for whole-home coverage, figured per ton of capacity. Collecting it means weatherizing as far as your Home Energy Assessment says to, choosing cold-climate equipment on the eligible list, and living there full time all winter. Converting only part of the home earns less, and you see your own estimate before committing.

Why Do We Explain the Money First?

HVAC Financing Chelsea was built around a simple idea: people decide better when they can see the numbers. So every project starts with the rebate estimate, the financing amount and the price on one page, in plain English, before anyone picks up a tool.
